About this course

The Environmental Competencies course aims to develop teachers' awareness of the environment and its issues, and to equip them with the essential knowledge and skills that enable them to engage positively with matters of pollution, resource management, and sustainable development. The course offers an interactive and simplified journey that covers environmental concepts, ecological balance, types and sources of pollution, and methods of pollution reduction. It also introduces the green economy, resource efficiency, Egypt’s Vision 2030, and the Sustainable Development Goals. The program integrates knowledge with practice and encourages learners to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors in their daily lives. This course was developed by the Employment Promotion Project (EPP), implemented by GIZ Egypt on behalf of the German Government, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and in collaboration with almentor.
