Myths about Emotions - Part 2
In the second part of the Emotion Regulation course, we continue our journey toward deeper insight by exploring common myths we hold about emotions and how to overcome them. You will learn how suppressed emotions can turn into physical pain, depression, and anxiety. Dr. Emad Rashad will guide you in dismantling inherited beliefs such as “men don’t cry” and “anger is shameful.” Emotions are not a danger to fear or a weakness to hide; they are an innate language that helps us live with honesty and balance. Suppression does not protect us; it drains us and traps us in anxiety, depression, and suffering. The course also explores Paul Ekman’s and Plutchik’s theories of primary and secondary emotions, and applies an emotion-description model drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy, leading to deeper self-reconciliation and greater emotional maturity.
